Rotary

Wilbur Walrond has been a Rotarian for 50 years!  In 1974 he joined the Rotary club of Richmond, the friendliest Club in the West, serving as president twice, for failing to do it right the first time. Forget a 3rd try, the current Board said– He just does not look right! He is only ½ Chinese. He left our club briefly, joined the Rotary Club of Steveston, the Rotary Club of Ladner before rejoining our club in 2024.

In 1985, he spearheaded the Trinidad & Tobago Cultural Society of BC, in 1992 the 1st Phase of the World Fellowship of Rotarian Gourmets, was chartered by RI. The 2022 the 2nd phase was rebranded to commemorate the presidency of first Lady, Jenny Jones. Unfortunately, due to a Stroke of Bad luck, it was deferred, hopefully to the extremely near future this year.

In 2012, he received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community and International service through Rotary.

In April, 2024  Wilbur achieved the Major Donor Level 1 of The Rotary Foundation for donating over $10,000 USD!
