Harry Blackwell
Aug 29, 2005

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Harry Blackwell on August 29, 2005, he was our former club member and a retired Architect.

Harry joined Rotary circa 1986 prior to moving to Maple Ridge to enjoy his retirement years with his wife Iris and children Sally & Ross. While in Rotary they participated in the Youth Exchange Program, during which son Ross visited Japan with the exchange students.

Harry entered Royal Columbian Hospital five weeks ago for pancreatitis treatment, and eventually passed away due to complications.

I first met Harry in 1966 when he and I worked for an Architecture firm in Vancouver, later we both started our own business in 1968. Eventually we became partners in our own development company, our first project being our office building on No 3 Rd. Richmond, following which Harry was invited to join Rotary. Harry was a very avid artist and sculptor.
