Jimmy Yan, M.Ed., K.St.G., is the Program Manager and Information Officer at Access Pro Bono Society of BC. Jimmy joined the Western Canada Society to Access Justice in 2003 and served as its Project Manager and Acting executive director prior to its merger with Pro Bono Law of BC.
Jimmy holds an MEd in law, justice and ethics and he is a regular media commentator on issues of public legal education and information. Jimmy is a columnist for Singtao Daily and he is also the author of a public legal educational book: A Framework to Decode Canadian Law.
Jimmy taught Comparative Legal Studies at SFU's Continuing Studies in 2023/24. Jimmy is the National Secretary of the Royal Commonwealth Society Canada and received the King Charles III Coronation Medal in March 2025. In April 2025, he received his investiture in the Order of St. George for his community work.
Jimmy serves on multiple boards, including the Royal Commonwealth Society of Mainland B.C., the Royal Society of St. George B.C., the Rotary Club of Richmond, and the Rotary Richmond Foundation.
