Meeting Old Friends
There has been a tradition throughout the years. The Rotary Club of Vancouver Chinatown have visited the Rotary Club of Richmond and likewise, visits have gone the other way as well. These clubs have shown support for projects initiated by the other club and many friendships have been forged. So it was on Jan 8, 2014, Rotary Club of Chinatown paid their visit to the River Rock Casino Hotel and joined us for lunch. They announced their upcoming Chinese New Year dinner, which has become an annual fundraising event. United 10 Million Charity Miles Giveaway
Rotary International came in 2nd place. Charity Miles help Rotary greatly expand its humanitarian reach. Charity Miles provide airfare for volunteers leading polio eradication efforts in Africa, and send U.S. Gift of Life surgical teams to perform life-saving surgeries in Central America. Charity Miles also help students from disadvantaged families participate in Rotary’s international exchange program.
