Our guests were Doug Kydd (RC Prince Rupert), Troy Glenn (guest of Keith) and Shauneen Kellner (Guest Speaker)
We were delighted to have Shauneen Kellner of Arthritis Research Centre of Canada to share with us researches and findings on arthritis and a number of other chronic diseases.
Shauneen was born and raised in the lower mainland and currently lives in Coquitlam with a very understanding husband and 2 young adult children.
She has a passion for making a difference and has spent the last 25 years working and volunteering in healthcare and not for profits.
Her previous work experience comes from working in a busy family practice in Coquitlam for over 10 years, working for Canadian Blood Services and now she currently holds the position of Executive Director for the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada where she’s been for the last 10 years.
She believes that there is a lot of hard work ahead of ARC to make a difference in arthritis and she’s committed to growing the centre in order to make sure that the centre is doing “Leading Research”, “Finding Answers” and “Saving Lives”.
The Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) conducts consumer-driven clinical research and trials related to arthritis diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, care outcomes and quality of life issues.
Their work includes a wide range of disciplines including rheumatology, rehabilitation science, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics health psychology, health economics and education.
A lot of valuable information on arthritis prevention and research findings are available on its website.
