After many postponements and delays, we finally welcomed
Juan Burry as an official member of the Rotary Club of Richmond on Nov 26, 2014.
District Governor Ken Wilson and Assistant Governor Rick Lewall joined our meeting today to help with inductions of new members. It did take a few attempts over the several months, but finally Juan received his Rotary pin from DG Ken at a presentation today.
Also welcomed today was
transferee James Hsieh, recently of the RC of Vancouver Chinatown. DG Ken welcomed him to the club which now makes his membership more official. James will be leading the Membership endeavours for his new club.
Very nice to see visitors Scott Leckie and Chak Au today, especially as Scott is recovering from flu and Chak fresh from his election as City Councilor. We also enjoyed the company of Joan and Helge Nielsen today. They along with regular members welcomed
new member Andrew Karwowski, who along with Lindsay Moir, represented Universal Coach Lines. Andrew as primary and Lindsay as secondary representatives were presented Rotary pins in recognition of our first Corporate Membership. DG Ken invited everyone to shake hands with our new members.
With guests, visiting Rotarians and new inductees, 15 people enjoyed a delicious lunch at Ningbo Restaurant and listened to
DG Ken's official visit and message of encouragement.
