The pictures tell the story, look what you missed by skipping Rotary.  With visitor Scott Campbell from RC Steveston, we enjoyed two cakes, a nice seafood luncheon, a recap by Bill Lau, as he explained his surgery, recovery and how it all got started.  Here he is, just 20 days since surgery, back to Rotary, to share some fellowship, and more importantly, to share how his is doing and the message health is most important.  It was so nice to see him, with his blood pressure 126/69, well in the range of normal.  Why the cakes, well it's Jacqueline's birthday today, so one cake for her and the other cake to celebrate Bill's successful surgery.

Also some excitement is coming up on Sept 23rd at East Richmond Community Centre, as all four Rotary Clubs come together for an enchilada social in recognition of Mexico's Independence Day.  Richard Boulier from RC Huauchinango, Mexico and his guest Juan, brought us an update.  It's a Sunday, so every Rotarian should be able to attend, it's not a work day.  Bring family and friends along for authentic Mexican treats, music and even a penyada. Register online ....

By the way, this Saturday Sep 8 is the Parkinson Super Walk at Minoru Park.  Many of you won't know that long time Rotarian and now Honorary Member Helge Nielsen of our Club has been working diligently on fundraising and profile for Parkinson's.  The walk begins at 1:00 p.m. and support for his cause would be greatly appreciated. A few of us will be there, so pop by and lend your support too, research for Parkinson's will be warmly welcomed.
