A small but engaging crowd at lunch to hear our member Alvin Leung on his classification talk. At the age of four Alvin moved to Canada from Hong Kong with his parents and older sister. Upon graduation from high school he entered the Faculty of Sciences at UBC, following his best friends more than his passion for sciences. He later moved to Toronto for several years but returned to BC and continued his career in banking and be closer to his family.

He is currently the Associate Vice President of CIBC at the Three West Center in Richmond. Prior to working at CIBC he was the Branch Manager at TD Canada Trust for seven years. Alvin is also in the RCMP Reserve. Working closely with people (vs paper and computer work) is what makes Alvin ‘tick’.

Alvin joined our club in August, 2017. He is a single parent to his eight year old son Michael and spends time camping, snow boarding and seeking out the next adventure with Michael. Family is of utmost importance to Alvin. He researched Rotary clubs carefully and our
club’s involvement with young people, and the our community projects resonated with Alvin.

Welcome Alvin to the Rotary family!

Thank you to Keith for requesting an International lunch in celebrating the World Heritage Day. It was delicious ( butter chicken and rice, Lasagne, pasta salad, mixed veggies and a middle eastern cake for dessert).
